Editor's note— Printed herein is the town Charter as enacted by Acts 1983, ch. 520, § 1. Amendments are indicated by parenthetical history notes following amended provisions. The absence of a history note indicates that the provision remains unchanged from the original. Obvious misspellings have been corrected without notation. For stylistic purposes, headings and catchlines have been made uniform and the same style of expression of numbers in text as appears in the Code of Ordinances has been used. A consistent scheme of capitalization has also been used. Additions for clarity are indicated by brackets. The town was established by an Act adopted March 15, 1836. It was incorporated by Acts 1842, ch. 191 and Acts 1876, ch. 184. The town ceased to function for a number of years and revised its activities by order of the Circuit Court on December 29, 1949.
